ACTIVE & ARCHIVAL SITES — ANOMALOUS OBSERVATION GRID

SITE-DR23-A / PETRA RUINS (Jordan)
Status: Archival locus.
Notes: Collapse of temple structure 399–400 AD; earliest confirmed Dante–Beatrice pairing. Rockfall debris shows anomalous “bleaching” of pigment in surviving inscriptions. No active anomalies present, but Directorate maintains low-visibility guard on artifact vault.

SITE-DR23-B / VENETIAN ARCHIVE HOLD (Italy)
Status: Contained.
Notes: Painting recovered from Carnival 1577, featuring Dante/Beatrice likenesses. Now housed in Vault-██, DC Central. Field reports cite residual memetic pull in viewers exposed >72 hrs. Public record lists painting as “lost in fire.”

SITE-DR23-C / CÓRDOBA QUARTER (Spain)
Status: Archival.
Notes: Burnt inn foundation dated 1010 AD. Soil samples retain anomalous ash crystals (spectrographic irregularities unresolved). Area currently redeveloped; active monitoring suspended.

SITE-DR23-D / MANCHESTER INDUSTRIAL BLOCK (England)
Status: Dormant / Historical.
Notes: Riot site 1815. One shoe (identified as Beatrice artifact) held in Vault-7, London sub-branch. No current anomalous signatures, but Directorate teams track auction houses for emergence of related personal effects.

SITE-DR23-E / PARIS QUARTIER (France)
Status: Archival / High Casualty.
Notes: 1793 riots. Blood residue samples inconclusive; reports of “red river” flowing uphill remain anecdotal. French archives hold suppressed testimony naming “Virgil.”

SITE-DR23-F / ORLÉANS BURN SITE (France)
Status: Historical suppression zone.
Notes: Remains of timber hut, execution of Beatrice (1022). Directorate field team exhumed charred ground; no bones located. Local folklore speaks of “heretic lovers burned.”

SITE-DR23-G / MASSACHUSETTS CAMP (USA)
Status: Archival hotspot.
Notes: 1776 skirmish camp. Fragmentary musket recovered, tagged with blood residue inconsistent with recorded occupants. Object secured, logged in Vault-12 (Boston).

SITE-DR23-H / D.C. BACK ALLEY (USA)
Status: Active Surveillance Marker.
Notes: 1957 homicide location. Annual anomaly: pearl fragments scatter further from site than previous year when mapped (self-shifting pattern unresolved). Area patrolled under cover of municipal maintenance.

SITE-DR23-I / ANTARCTIC EXPEDITION CAMP (Terra Nova)
Status: Remote / Restricted.
Notes: 1910–13, Dante abandoned in tent. Directorate team recovered ring box (Vault-3). Journals show anomalous marginalia (“Virgil”) written in hand inconsistent with Beatrice’s or Dante’s. Site remains under international treaty; covert sensor buoys in place.

SITE-DR23-J / CURRENT SURVEILLANCE ZONE — [REDACTED HOTEL], [██████████████]
Status: Active.
Notes: 2025: Beatrice observed employed at hotel desk. Dante seen in vicinity, no recognition displayed. Virgil sighted once in courtyard. Area monitored under “soap opera” directive (no interference).

FIELD SUMMARY

  • Dante observed as mobile anomaly — present across all sites, no confirmed aging.

  • Beatrice re-emerges as local civilian tied to Dante, dies prematurely until 2025 variation.

  • Virgil uncontainable; appearances unpredictable, but sites marked by anomalous sensor bleed.

  • Each locus tied to sudden termination events (riot, collapse, fire, betrayal). Directorate files treat these not as coincidence but as predictable recurrences in anomalous cycle.

OPERATIONS DIRECTIVE:
Maintain passive grid. Do not engage. Treat all artifacts as Class-III memetic objects. Sites re-surveyed every 10 years unless active anomaly manifests.
